The Challenge
How it Works
There are many ways to get involved:
-
Gather a group of friends, work colleagues or school or college friends together and arrange an activity in the week that will involve some energy and also raise some funds for these two charities. Some suggestions are shown here, but add yours to the lists - we'd love to hear your ideas:
- Traditional sporting competition e.g football, rugby, tennis, badminton, squash, hockey, athletics, netball, boxing, judo, martial arts etc
- Obstacle course
- 10 pin bowling competition
- Skittles match
- Dancing - ballroom, modern, ballet, tap
- Walk (see pedometer challenge)
- Join in organised GOYeovil events. On the events calendar there are a growing number of events that you can take part in, particularly the GOYeovil 9k race, the 4.5k race (which is great for teams of 4 as well as individuals) or the 2k childrens' race and the pedometer challenge.
- How about walking or cycling to work for the week and contributing some of the petrol money you save to GOYeovil Get someone to take a picture of you setting off on your bike and email it with your story to us at the contact address shown on our contact page. You could win one of the GO Yeovil! Green Prizes.
- Organise an event at your health club, gym or maybe dance the night away at your night club.
- If you are a member of any of the hundreds of clubs and organisations in Yeovil who are already involved in community support and activity - please support the GOYeovil week in some way. We would love to hear from you!
