GOYeovil Week 13th to 19th June 2011

GO Yeovil Airfield Dash

As part of the GoYeovil activities, a Fun Run will be held on Runway 27 at RNAS Yeovilton on Thursday 16 June 2011 at 1815 hours. Runners of all standards are encouraged to participate in this event over a distance of 2310m on a flat 'road-running' surface.

Participants in fancy dress (as well as sports gear) are welcome, and the spectacle will be captured from the air by photographers in Station helicopters.

The event will allow military and civilian runners an opportunity to exercise in an environment usually reserved for the operation of military aircraft.

  • Parking will be provided for non-Station participants; access being granted via the South Dispersal Gate from 1700 (marshals will provide direction).
  • Physical Training Department will provide warm-up and direction at the start of the event.

Each participant will be asked to make a minimum £2 donation to GOYeovil charities (St Margaret's Hospice and the Flying Colours Appeal) at registration before the start of the Runway Dash.

To take part simply download the Runway Dash Application Form and enter your name, address and vehicle registration number (if relevant). Please note: No vehicle can proceed onto the Air Station for this event without this information being completed.
